Going Stir Crazy? Lack of Personal Space? Need some Social Distancing?
Going Stir Crazy? Lack of Personal Space? Need some Social Distancing?
For so long we have had it so good. We didn’t even realise it. Even with the trauma of the firey summer we still had a stable society on the other side of the flames to fall back on. We were all longing for the smoky, hot summer to go so we could get back to return to our favourite holiday spot, or look forward to our overseas holiday. Now the world seems topsy-turvy and we are all caught in the middle of this craziness.
Hard as it may be right now, we are so very lucky to be living in Australia. We have an abundance of fresh air and millions of hectares of land and sea around us. We have larger houses than many countries and we have gardens, parks, forests and beaches to roam. Research shows that being around nature reduces fear and anxiety, and increases feelings of happiness and peace. In fact psychologists have found that hospital patients with a natural view from their bed actually recover quicker than those who don’t have a view. So a dose of the countryside may help you get through these stressful times.
This crazy moment in our lives is our carpe diem ‘seize the day’ moment. We can’t go to football games or concerts, but we can take this moment to get back to what is most important in our lives. The ones we love. But sometimes it’s hard to relax and unwind at home, too many distractions, hard to get out of the rut, and that’s why we have holidays. You may not be able to go overseas, but now is a good time to find a quiet little town with some self-contained accommodation and have some good old fashioned quality time – walks in the countryside, reading books, sitting in the autumn sun, enjoying hot chocolate by the by a real wood fire. Isolate yourself. Far from the madding crowd. Relax and rejuvenate. Reconnect with nature. Enjoy the serenity. Breathe in that fresh air.
Multi Australian and NSW Tourism Award winning Crystal Creek Meadows in Kangaroo Valley is one such oasis. Two hours from Sydney and Canberra and a million miles from worry. After 17 years of offering guests the very highest quality of self-contained accommodation and with professional staff, you can be reassured protecting your health is our utmost priority.
With 16 acres of beautiful lush gardens and countryside on the property you can be assured you will have plenty of time to be outside and enjoy the fresh air and space. There is a 15 minute one kilometre walk to enjoy past the orchard, along the creek, over the footbridge, through the cherry blossom tree tunnel and back to your private cottage. A lovely way to socially distance yourself from the rush of the city.
Crystal Creek Meadows cottages also have a full kitchen so you can bring your own, or we order a breakfast basket and afternoon tea. We strongly support our fabulous local businesses and cottages are stocked with ready-made Berihurikari Indian meals, local wines from Tertini in the Southern Highlands and Two Figs Winery in Berry, and tasty Kangaroo Valley Olives and Tapenades and crackers so there is no need to step foot off the property. We also support our fabulous local restaurants like the superb Jing Jo Thai who offer authentic takeaway.
We would like to reassure you at this time that we have very stringent policies to protect all our guests and staff.
Steps we take to ensure you enjoy a wonderful healthy holiday are:
– All cottages are cleaned thoroughly with hospital grade antiseptic (applied to surfaces, including door handles and reception area). We have also used the powerful essential oil lemon-scented tea tree as a natural disinfectant for the past 15 years.
– Linen and towels are laundered under Australian hospitality guidelines (temperatures exceed 75c)
– Antibacterial hand wash is located in every cottage and sanitiser in reception
– All staff have been briefed to implement our procedures and to take personal care using disposable gloves
– We only have four cottages across 16 acres so you enjoy a fully private self-contained accommodation with no contact with any other guests
– You can enjoy an abundance of fresh healthy air on the property and on the walking tracks and picturesque bike routes
– Guests are welcome to self check-in and check-out if they prefer, however we are available to assist you in Reception or on the property at all times and abide by social distance recommendations.
Since our cottages are self-contained, professionally cleaned, and located on our regenerated property you have maximum privacy, a healthy place to relax with an abundance of nature.
