Laura’s Diary – Tourism Student Work Experience
On the weekend of 21-23 October, Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival took place. I thought it would be a brilliant opportunity for me to volunteer and integrate more with the local and extended community. I had a great time and met some important people from the area; I also presented a prize in the bush poetry competition on behalf of Chris and Sophie.
I am glad I did as poetry is not something that interests me but I really enjoyed listening to them all, from tales of whales to roaring bush fires, the talent was spectacular, I also got to polish up my public speaking skills. The atmosphere was very low key and chilled out in comparison to English festivals I have gone to, and it was a great experience for me. I got to see some great live music and meet some new friends.
