Come and enjoy great folk music and bush poetry in the beautiful surroundings of Kangaroo Valley. This years Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival has a strong line up of performers including Andy Gordon and Badja River Quartet to name but a few.
For the third year Crystal Creek Meadows is sponsoring the Bush Poetry with a special award. This years theme is "Travelling Light". The inaugural winner was John Davis (pictured) with Yellow Box Tree

The Crystal Creek Meadows Bush Poetry Award 2011- “Travelling Light”
This is the third Crystal Creek Meadows Bush Poetry Award and is themed “Travelling Light”. The prize of two nights' accommodation* for two at this national award winning retreat will be awarded by the judges for the poem which they feel best depicts the concept of travelling light i.e. the joy of walking, bicycle, trains....travelling with a low footprint.
One of the very special things about Australia is our Bush Poetry. It is part of our unique cultural heritage and reminds us of our roots, the power of the land, and our ability to see humour and be resilient even in tough times.
