The migrating whales come up the South Coast during June-July and carve in the warmer winter waters of northern NSW/Queensland before returning with their carve August-October back along the South Coast and to Antarctic waters.

This wonder of nature is a magnificent thing to see. Take a cruise boat for 2-3 hours from Huskisson and see the whales close up. Or take a picnic and go the the headlands that your hosts can recommend and make a day of it. You can also visit Boderee National Park or enjoy the markets at Huskisson, Pyree, Sanctuary Point, Berry or Shoalhaven Heads.

There is a playful pod of dolphins in living in Jervis Bay that are always happy to meet the cruise boats as they tour through the clear waters. Tours can also include visiting the seals and getting close to where the Little Penguins live on Bowen Island.

Waterfalls & Lookouts

Kangaroo Valley has three tremendous waterfalls; Fitzroy, Belmore and Carrington as well as three dramatic lookouts at Mannings, Red Rocks and Cambewarra. In Kangaroo Valley try the Fitzroy Falls to Canbewara Lookout of the Upper Kangaroo River Road drives (link below) they present some of the most outstanding scenery and quite vantage points to stop and admire the view.
